Test trials for internal paint removal
Religious buildings tend to be centuries old and as such, their cleaning, maintenance and overall preservation needs a specialist hand.
Religious buildings occupy an important place in our built environment, and their preservation and maintenance can be challenging for those who manage them. We are experts in the external and internal stone cleaning, complete façade restoration, masonry repairs and conservation of listed and heritage buildings constructed with sandstones, limestones, brickwork and terracotta. We are conservation-driven in our philosophy and approach to masonry cleaning and building restoration. “Conservation is the process of managing change to a significant place in ways that will best maintain its values, whilst recognising opportunities to reveal or reinforce these values for present and future generations.” (Conservation Principles, Policies and Guidance 2015)
We specialise in stone cleaning, complete façade restoration, masonry repairs, and conservation for various types of religious buildings. Building Transformation provides you with a complete solution so that your precious building and its structure can be restored and maintained for generations to come. For 16 years we have specialised in steam cleaning external building façades, restoring stone and brick building exteriors, using low pressure steam to clean and restore stone and masonry. During this time, we have coordinated and delivered cleaning and restoration of religious buildings for a variety of clients, using ‘super-heated water steam’ to restore, preserve and maintain soiled building façades. We carefully clean buildings constructed of all types of stone and brick, removing staining such as carbon, traffic film, effluence staining, leached salts, organic matter, environmental pollution and paint. Before starting any project, we work with the client to ensure all the correct planning regulations are in place, conservation guidelines and all relevant BS standards have been observed and understood before moving forward with the project i.e. undertake specialist façade cleaning test trials to bring the project to life, to help validate, build a business case, increase certainty and alignment for the project team and the client. We help give the project deeper foundations in a transparent and open framework.
Façade cleaning and refurbishment on buildings with historic/listed status should be undertaken by specialist traditional craftspeople and conservation specialists. It’s often the case that on one building a number of different projects need to be undertaken to restore, re-stabilise and refurbish the building façade back to its original state. Before starting any project, we work with the client to ensure all the correct planning regulations are in place, conservation guidelines and all relevant BS standards have been observed and understood before moving forward with the project. It’s our job to help you restore your church or religious building back to its former lustre.
